See Searson: Nov. 1, 12:30pm, The Last Class; Nov. 1, 2:30pm, The Last Class; 8:40pm, Main Stage Theatre With talent that remains full of fierce energy, Searson continues to astound their audiences with unguarded sincerity in their vocals, raw fiddling and ferocious step dancing. These three sisters have been taking North America by storm, performing an average of 150 shows a year. Growing up in the Ottawa Valley of Ontario, Canada, Erin, Heather and Colleen Searson began performing for audiences at a young age. With each sister learning various instruments, the earliest beginning at age four, their lives were filled with a love and appreciation of music. They gradually excelled in their individual instruments which include Erin on piano, lead vocals, mandolin and step dancing, Heather on bass and step dancing, and Colleen on fiddle, vocals, mandolin and step dancing. Searson recorded their first full-length album when Colleen was 12 years old and since then have recorded House Party, Follow, Searson Live and their latest release A Different Kind of Light. Their early traditional stylings quickly expanded to reflect other music the band enjoys including rock, country and folk music. A Different Kind of Light has a Roots-Pop feel with a distinctly organic sound. The live show reflects the bands’ latest albums as their high energy performances include all original music. http://www.searson.org/
